Bichoï Bastha has a contrarian take on the technology every ad platform is now selling. The model, he says, is the least important part.
“Models are becoming a commodity,” he says. “The data the model is trained on is the most important thing, and RAY is built on 20 years of data.”
RAY is Dailymotion’s agentic AI operating system – software designed to act across and during a full campaign rather than simply respond to prompts. It sits at the center of Dailymotion Business, a brand the company launched a few months ago to group its products – Audience Path, Motion, Exchange and Edge – under one name.

The 20 years Bichoï refers to covers brand campaigns, viewing behavior and publisher activity, alongside signals from around five billion monthly video views, 400 million people and roughly 10,000 premium publishers. A model trained on data a company knows nothing about, he says, cannot see what that footprint sees.
Bichoï joined Dailymotion in 2009 as an engineer with a computer science background, at a point when advertising still ran on manual workflows. Clients emailed over images, someone uploaded them to an ad server, and that was the campaign.
