The managing director of L’Oréal Lab and head of AI operations at Publicis Media wrote on LinkedIn after Anthropic and OpenAI put their stakes in the ground about taking advertising dollars.

While OpenAI has explored commercial partnerships and hinted at future monetisation models, Anthropic has publicly positioned Claude as ad-free – at least for now. But both companies face the same question, which is how to fund increasingly expensive AI systems at scale.
